Incoherent Thoughts Poem by Ibn Ali

Incoherent Thoughts

Tonight my heart is beating but I don't recognise the rhythm
I'm scared
I fear dying in this instance
The Devils whisper in the first person
My actions are my own
But I feel I'm being coerced
I feel their influence
We suffer from mortality
Our life is amplified with hurt
Have you ever felt so dark you thought there'd never be dawn
Have you ever longed for one person
And she was at your mercy
Yet you showed restraint
For the sanctity of her
Have you ever held the key to your desires
And stood at the door
Then walked away
Because with you stood the bad amongst the good
Have you ever yearned
For something you were sure you don't deserve
I'm rarely cold but tonight I feel the chill
