Incarceration In Incoherence Poem by Cheng Zheng

Incarceration In Incoherence

Drumbeats upon the tired soul
Every word falls like a rusty hammer
Falling
Falling
Forever falling
Scarlet and crimson spilt upon the heart's many walls
The noise as of thunder and pale moonlight
Drains the mind with its illusive promises
Gold is worthless in the wasteland of mutilated men
Forever the hope
Forever the carrot dangling in front of the rabbit's mouth
Receding just as fast as it approaches
Trees evermore blowing in the wind
Yet never does the leaf fall
It seems
The howling wind of a million screams
And the blood-stained river of a billion tears
Attack the tree of eternal hope
Yet the fools laugh the way they always have
And never
Never
Nevermore does the leaves ever fell
