In The Deep Of The Night Poem by Regena Kilgore

In The Deep Of The Night

Once I stood in darkness,
with my head held low.
Where had my happiness gone,
did anyone know?
My heart cried out,
in the still of the night.
My strength was gone,
I no longer could fight.
Oh God, if Your really there,
reach down and touch me,
show me You care.
Because I have fallen,
in a deep dark pit.
I need to feel You,
before I just quit.
I waited and listened,
He gently called my name.
He said 'come let Me love you,
for My Son, has taken all the blame.'
