In Tearful Prayer Poem by Michael P. Johnson

In Tearful Prayer

Hear my prayer Almighty Father
Guiding Salvation's band
Failing, lost, how much I'd rather
Be safe in Jesus' hand

Straying, troubled, erring in shame
Basking, in self desire
All while knowing Your Holy Name
And hell's eternal flame

Hoping, believing merciful grace
Your faithful promise sworn
Encouraged Lord, I seek Your face
Praying a brand new dawn

Where once again beneath loves gaze
Hopeful to walk once more
Seeing The Truth, Your righteous ways
Both hell and Heaven's door

Humbly weeping, I bow my knee
In shadows of my past
Praying Christ's blood will set me free
And close hell's entrance fast

Through Christ, raising my eyes on high
With hands up in the air
Faithful, these words on wings may fly
Eternity to share

Knowing my heart, my precious soul
The past I've sought to hide
How far I've drifted from life's goal
On Heaven's Wind to ride

Lord, let these tears fall not in vain
Search deep my soul within
Allow this wretch to live again
Through Jesus, without sin.....
