In Such A Time As This Poem by Carol Fleming Klein

In Such A Time As This

It's time...
And here I am...
Called to Come...
Come...
Now is the time...
Called now, to come...
Come...now is the time to junk the 'trunk.'
It's time to drop the load...
It's time to drop the load
of 'what-ifs, if-onlys,
and 'could-ofs, would-ofs, should-ofs.'
It's time to toss out the trash...
It's time to sweep out the ashes...
It's time to leave the ash pile behind....
No more lingering by the cinder pile,
with sooty tears and forlorn wishes.
It's such a time as this...
The word has come...
The invitation's received...
It's time to clean the house...
It's time to wash and dress...
It's time to get ready for a banquet.
No more daydreaming of princes...
It's time to get ready for a King
Coming to claim a Bride
At such a time... as this!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Written in a time of Esther facing future fears and enemy plots, and fasting for faith to walk the courageous path and to leave behind cinder dreams and sooty wishes, and to be banquet bound and palace prepared. In such a time as this. Thursday, February 16,2023
