In My Own World Poem by Kaine Madison

In My Own World

i live in my own world
made of fragile things
things like feelings paper thin
and ready to rip

you look at me
i stand tall
and straight
breath calm and even paced

inside there is no peace
my mind plays tricks on me
fools me into feeling safe
hides the sores that never heal

i look at you and before you
speak
i hear the words that break
like glass across my face

A nicely written heartfelt poem. All the emotions of seeing a past love comes through nicely. Well done!
