In A World Poem by RaShawn Ince

In A World

In a world where dreams are reality,
And reality isn’t what it seems.
Where the sun goes down and the sky is bright,
And at the middle of the day as dark as midnight.
Where wrong is right and right is wrong,
And long is short while short is long.
Where home is the streets and the streets is our home,
Surrounded by people yet always alone.

In a world where books doesn’t teach a thing,
And the loneliest people fly with wings.
Where solid is liquid and liquid is gas,
Where silver is gold and gold is brass.
Where 1 is 2 and 2 is 3,
Where you are blind and the blind can see.
Where the same is different and different the same,
Where pain brings joy and joy brings pain.

Where tall is short and big is small,
Where all is for one but one isn’t for all.
Where you sleep when you’re awake and when you’re awake you’re asleep,
Where taking is giving and to give is to keep.
Where you’re flying and flying and flying so high,
But you’re falling so fast right out of the sky.
Where red is blue and blue is green,
Where loyalty isn’t what it seems.
Where hatred is locked and the caged bird’s free,
Where I am you and you are me.
