Imagine A Man Poem by Kaye Harvey

Imagine A Man

Imagine a man who believes in the worth of his fellow being,
A man who has no need to dishonour another in order to feel good about himself.
A man who appreciates & respects another, even when ideologies differ.
Imagine a man able to nurture all that is sacred for him,
A man who knows that each answer he searches for, will be found within himself.
Imagine a man who does not lay blame on external influences for his personal frustrations and limitations.
Imagine a man who does not deny his need to cry, a man able to express his feelings, who can name his ecstasies, his dreams, his longing, his pain and his fears.
Imagine a man who has enthusiasm for the mundane, who finds joyfulness in ordinary moments.
A man who delights in exploring himself and his universe, who can dare to venture where he has not been before.
Imagine a man comfortable in the company of women,
A man who can nurturing, challenging and brave enough
to allow her to expand freely, to be all she was meant to be,
A man who does not feel threatened by her accomplishments.
Imagine a man who can truly enjoy a woman as she warms in her pleasure,
As she allows the surrender of her inhibitions.
A man who can be with her as she returns.
Imagine a man who believes in the truth and simplicity of:
We have chosen to be on this earth with each other,
We can choose to live in harmony, to be here for each other,
To work, to play, and to live, together.
Imagine a man willing to be so vulnerable
Imagine, being with a man like that.
