Imagine? Poem by Adam Jeffries

Imagine?

I can soar through the skies without ever leaving my room
I close my eyes and can see through the storm
Feel the love of the world, an ancient future wash over me
Strike the chord of the music resonating deep within
Connect me to the nearest or farthest soul
I feel the rain pitter pattering on the rocks
I feel the pain of the leaves leaving the trees
I feel the ache of my own yearning
A thousand thousand years of desires welled up inside
Searching for, screaming for, the voice that gives shape
Shape to the dreams of a spirit that cannot be contained
Lit out into the night as I lay back in my room
My imagination sparking the fire of my being
Imagining that I have lived forever
Imagining that I will live forever
Imagining that the moment I’m in was forever coming
Imagine forever, Imagine forever

Goose flesh rises on the arms, hair rises up on the nape of the neck
Being filled with all that came before, all that will come
Love not a big enough word for oneness of all souls in the world
One with people, one with nature, one with the pen, one with the sword
