Ignoble Bonds Poem by Eila Mahima Jaipaul

Ignoble Bonds

Rating: 5.0

I love you, I am afraid,
not for your sake, but for my own.
How I long to free myself from this ignoble bond...
but the passion is too fierce to cope with.
Yet fate saw to it
that hundreds of miles lay between us.
Mired between your world and the next
all I can ask for Love,
is some sign of your devotion
anything to show
that this is not my imagination
