If There Is A Letter Box In Heaven Poem by Not Long Left

If There Is A Letter Box In Heaven

Rating: 0.5

Did you choose the weeping willow
to hang from for its ironic sentiment
If so you should have stayed
for you had much more to give alive.

Did you choose to leave with the words
'Gone to Play Dice With Some Other God'
If so you should have stayed
For the Gods are all knowing and would always win.

Did you lose your mind in those nightmares
If so you should have said
For I would have stayed awake for eternity
with you just to see the you in you smile.

I hope that wherever you are
you are at peace, painting some angels wall
sharing your gift with those lonely souls
and that sleep is sweet for you
my brother, my shoulder, my will, my friend.

This is really emotive, and I think it's because you avoid the flowery cliches that people so often associate with the death of a loved one. The hope that he is painting the angel's wall forges a link between his living self and the spirit he has become. I absolutely love the realism, and think that the humour was really suitable.
