If My Dad Was Santa Claus Poem by Stephen Holland

If My Dad Was Santa Claus

If my Dad was Santa Claus (Ruby’s Dream)

If my Dad was Santa Claus
It would cause a fuss
If I went to school by reindeer
Instead of by the bus
If my Dad was Santa Claus
That would be just great
He’d stick in the chimney pot
Unless he lost some weight
If my Dad was Santa Claus
I’d help him clean his sleigh
I’d wash and scrub it all year round
Except on Christmas Day
If my Dad was Santa Claus
He’d bring me the best gifts
I’d leave him Port and some Mince Pies
And probably some crisps
If my Dad was Santa Claus
It wouldn’t be the same
I’d miss him most on Christmas Eve
After the reindeer came
If my Dad was Santa Claus
No one would have a clue
No one would believe my poem
Unless this dream came true
