If Life Poem by Bull Hawking

If Life

If life brings me again

Charlie Brown's football

That rather mishapened ball

Will I simply kick the air

Like the fool

Playing his worn out 45

For the very last time

Phonograph so worn

Have to put next to

Your ear

Pulling your trigger

On Roy Rogers mule
