If I Knew Then, What I Know Now Poem by david lessard

If I Knew Then, What I Know Now

I know now
what I didn't know then,
but it's too late,
and I have other things to tend.

Now I know
why things went wrong,
It's because we sang
a different song.

Words don't matter now,
So I'll not speak;
It's way to late,
To turn the other cheek.

If I knew then,
what I know now;
It wouldn't change
My feelings anyhow.

You can't change destiny,
This thing called fate;
All one can do,
Is change their mate.
