If I Didn't Get It, It's Because I Didn't Want It Poem by Paula Glynn

If I Didn't Get It, It's Because I Didn't Want It

If I didn't get it, it's because I didn't want it
As Madonna sang, it is a material world
And I am also a material girl
I love jewels and high heels
I love it when people look at me
And in awe reel

I love my materials and my luxuries
My fast cars and private airplanes
I cannot get enough of boys either
Myself smiling at them with allure
My lipstick smile leaving them weak at the knees

I dress up for parties each and every night
I start every night-time party
I am a gold-digger in the nicest way
Yet for myself I do pay
And know I light up that stage

If I didn't get it, it's because I didn't want it
Leaving those takers to beg
Because I love my designer leg
That kicks the losers out the door
Leaving them to be dirty and poor

I don't feel sympathy for those in poverty
And I have the devil inside
Where I look at the weak
And destroy their insecure pride
Knowing they've lost all over again
No matter how hard they try

I don't show my cards
Yet I am incredibly perceptive and hard
Always the leader of the group
Always leading the way in society
Taking the weak out of the picture
Knowing I am the ultimate winner

Because I get everything I want:
And I mean everything
Everyone always agrees with me
Myself a high society achiever
With guts and a ruthlessness
No one can ever steal.
