If I Could (Sonnet #78) Poem by Tina Rizk

If I Could (Sonnet #78)

If I could sow roses, instead of words
Magnificent roses that wither not
Would spread your love's scent all over the world
People would plant them in their flowerpots

If I could weave my sonnet from sunlight
To convey how your sweet love lit my soul
All mobile screens would radiate your heart's light
The warmth of your love, would be felt by all

If I could adorn the sky with your name
Soft rain would fall filled with your tenderness
All deserts would sprout buds and flow fountains
And the earth would be breathing happiness

If I could, I would; for your love abounds
With glee, warmth, and beauty—in your heart found
