If God Were A Dog Poem by J.B. LeBuert

If God Were A Dog

Rating: 5.0

If God were a dog,
Would it even matter?
Would She love us all,
The fat and fatter?

She'd be more real,
Of this I feel.
Renewed with zeal,
Again I'd kneel.

To pray for peace,
To come to earth;
To make wars cease,
For what its worth.

If God were a dog,
I'd like it better.
She'd lick our face,
And we could pet Her.

brilliant turn-it-round acrobatic thinking in a short poem: short, simple but there's so much power in the thought and idea...well done, J.B.LeBuert...this deserves a full grade which I'm about to deliver with a click on 10
