If Poem by Aeran Dawn

If

If things were the way they used to be
we would be together-
you and me.
If things were the way they were in the past
us
would have last.
But if it be true
that all good things must come to an end
then there is nothing more we can do.
No more, no more.
No more time to spend.
No more lies to bend.
No heart, to mend.
Nothing.
And yet...
If it be that 'all's well ends well'
Then perhaps there is a hope
of which, time will tell.
If we hold on
to each other
Then...maybe nothing's gone
If we are still here
Perhaps, then
A solution is near.
If you and I alike, dream
of it that used to be and it that could be
Then nothing is as hopeless as it seem(s)
If you love me as much as you dare say
Then I shall have a reason
Reason enough, to stay.
If, for every tear I shed
there be a ribbon, red
I shall have enough ribbon
to bind us together-
Forever.
If we banish all doubts and fears alike
Then at last...
We shall find our peace.
Peace in love and love in peace
Together.
Love, and Peace.
Together.
