I Wish Poem by Georgina Ashton

I wished upon a star,
And wondered where you were.
To enter my life and my heart,
I’m glad you did because you’re truly my star.

My wish for us, is for us to last,
Because you’ve changed my life and my past.
I know I’ve lied and cheated in my time, I’m just glad it wasn’t on you,
Because it’d break your heart and mine too.

You say you’re gonna make it big,
And I believe you can,
I’ve heard what you’ve written
And I’m your number one fan.

You’re more like the Carling and Stella
Whereas I’m more of the Edward and Bella.
You’re rough and tough and it turns me on,
But I’m more of the creative and dramatic one.

Just thinking back when we hardly spoke, and you sat opposite me,
Smiling and grinning cheekily.
I did have thoughts and images,
But back then I they had to be limited.
But those images of me holding your hand,
Kissing your lips and loving you,
Has made me understand.
That there is always a chance,
Always a hope.
That people can be together, people like us,
Who have known each other for a long time to trust.

There’s still a lot to know about me and
You as well,
But if you’d let me stay with you,
I’d share stories to tell,
Tell about me, my family
That would make you smile,
So I try to tell them regularly,
Cause that smile stays there for a while.

And as for your family, well
They’re just something else,
I love them to bits,
And they’ve bought me out of my shell.

So that’s what you get for wishing
Upon a star,
Because it lead me to you,
And I love you for who you are.
