I Will Tell All Poem by Francis Kokutse

I Will Tell All

Pray ye all;
that,l do not go
before you all
to that yonder country
of no return.
If do go on that journey;
may ye all know that,
I have made this vow:
that l will tell all.
Be it at the gates
of Hades or Heaven,
I will tell those who meet me;
that, l come from a country,
where they hate goat meat,
but run to gulp down goat soup,
that, we hate prostitution which is cheap,
but pay so much for Slay Queens,
that, our Pastors abhor adultery,
but sleep with wives of their members,
that our leaders say one thing
and do the other.
Hear me,
what country will condemn
the use of birth certificates
as a document to register as a voter,
then go on air to advertise
the use of birth certificates
to register for a card
that is recognised to register
As a voter?
I really come from
a confused country.
