I Will Not Die Poem by Sarah Walker

I Will Not Die

Rating: 5.0

I will not die,
Softly
I will not die,
Gently
I will not die,
Quietly

I am the currents of the wind
I am the torrents of the sea
I am the inconsequential snowflake
I am the unnoticed silence

My pain is quiet but my laugh is loud
Static as a candle light flame and roaring as a star
Teach me escape from my in com pre hen sible mind

Infinitely curious, lacking in directoin
A dreamer without a dream

I will not die,
I was not born

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this poem when I was feeling really lost about who I was, what I wanted to be and where I was going. I intended to express feelings of conflict, devastation and lack of belonging. I was going through a really hard time and this poem expressed how I felt no one could understand the pain, so I covered it with a loud and fake laugh and smile.
