I'Ve Got The Answer Poem by STEVE HOFFMAN

I'Ve Got The Answer

It’s been asked for ever
The question of where we are
The presents of a planet
Warmed by a close star

The color of the grass
The presence of air
The simple colors
The life that’s out there

Philosophy, science, it’s all clear
We’re a small portion of something
that’s greater than here

The planets all orbit
The plants make things green
The retinal of the eye
Lets things be seen

The skies are black at night
The stars are all clear
Our backs to the sun
And the moon is out there

These questions have answers
Our intellect lets us know
Our quest for knowledge
Will never let go

One thing that we all ponder
It has know answer in time
Is “ why do you love me”
It has know reason or rhyme

With philosophy and science aside
We’ve got this emotion that none of us can hide

An attraction, a stair, a smile, a smirk
It does not matter that spark starts to work

With me, it was on a roof
A fire works display
I didn’t see the show
At least not the one in the sky, anyway

The ooze and ohs of the child
The same girl and the wonder
Then all a sudden a woman

And, i no longer had to ponder
With in two hours time
This fabulous transition did occur
From the child, to the girl, and then the true her

So to the question of “why do you love me”
I think the answer is clear
When she's being honest, and the true her
I hold that love so dear
