I'Ve Encountered Poem by Gary James Smith

I'Ve Encountered

I'VE ENCOUNTERED

Sent from Samsung Mobile

I've encountered my heavenly Father

His love encompasses me

My sin revealed in all its horror

But His grace was sufficient for me

What wondrous love He has poured out

And placed all the wrath I deserved

Upon the back of His own Son

Prophetically in scripture preserved

Though heaven and earth may pass away

There's no greater power than He

There is none other above our God

Revealed in history

The Word become flesh Incarnate

That Word that spoke creation into being

That Word that gives life everlasting

That Word is Lord Jesus our King

An awareness I never thought possible

Lord Jesus now living in me

His Holy Spirit my Comforter

Showing things of Christ to me

Becoming flesh and dwelling amongst us

I barely can take it in

That God Himself became a man

Forgiving me for my sin

I thank You my heavenly Father

Such love You have given to men

To provide so great a Salvation

Through Jesus the great I Am

When sin brought its darkest hour

Old Satan had to take flight

For out of the blood bought Redemption for man

Came Jesus our Glorious Light!

Hallelujah, what a Saviour!
