I Took A Book Poem by ion untaru

I Took A Book

I took a book from the shelf
through the words with a free pass
and old streets with holy names
in a fair with broken glass

I heavily reprimand my blunt pencil
one road joins, another splits world
deep mystery in the seven arts
and finally, no reward

so desert as thirsty is
coolness of the fountain
leisurely troubadours
delay reward

mulberry spend their coolness
drinking fountain is dry
water carriers of jus-cask
for when you ask

flickering fire of brushwood
how you will avoid jinx

romanian version

the infirmities of stoves,
and obsession of lynx?

romanian version

am luat din raft o carte
ră tă cesc printre cuvinte
uliţ e cu nume sfinte
într-un târg cu geamuri sparte

mustrare grea creionul bont
un drum uneş te altul desparte
ş apte arte într-o carte
cu scadenţ ele la scont

cât pustiu atâta sete
lin ră coarea din fântână
recompensa ş i-o amână
trubaduri pe îndelete

îş i petrec ră coarea duzii
a secat de cald ciş meaua
sacagiul cu giubeaua
vânză torul de iluzii

pâlpâie un foc de vreascuri
neputinţ ele din sobe
numai gusturile snobe
nopţ ile dau foc la teascuri
