(i Think I) Want You Poem by Effie Yalena Steyn

(i Think I) Want You

Rating: 2.7

Immortal, incomparable
Inconceivable to many, this truth:
As the stars washed up on
painful shores, night falls.
Melancholy leaks into
gaping eyes, held open by
this conditional
nature of our friendship, timed to
the minute. Release
me in dreams conjugated with
fists, balled and longing for sweetness
and flesh and romance and hope
and a win.
You do not make it easy.
Flying and falling with apparent displeasure
at this path I chose to deftly tread.
It's leading me astray.
Apparent to no one, this sinuous route
takes me onwards and upwards and possibly
downwards, into this dead end life I did not want.
What do I want?
I think, I hypothesise, theorise, postulate
create this notion:
I think I want you.

You write with the blinds half drawn on the window of your soul. Your poem is full of the intrigue of discovering love in your heart.Looks like there is pent up and unexpressed passion for the other in the words 'fist' and 'balled'.That's what I mean by intrigue-I want to know what happened next and if your love blossomed.
