I Regret: (November,2000) Poem by DM W

I Regret: (November,2000)

Rating: 5.0

I regret having let a broad dream
Slip through my fingers, not for the first time,
It must be said. I let it slip away
Without learning anything from it.
Now I'm sinking into oblivion.
My dream arrived this glorious summer.
But now it has sadly dissipated
In the bitter winds of autumn.

I wonder if we regret the things we didn't do more than we regret the things we did do... I find my biggest regrets are over the decisions not to follow my dream. Sometimes we human beings just can't find satisfaction with ourselves. Well written poem, Dominic. 10
