I Put You On A Pedestal Poem by Patti Masterman

I Put You On A Pedestal

I put you on a pedestal
And painted you, in stars;
A sun and moon,
Each side, your throne
Midst golden fields, of flowers.

Then graved your name, in stele
A foot high, chiseled there;
Alas, for all my troubles-
Your thoughts are not so rare.
