I Play Among The Best Poem by Naveed Akram

I Play Among The Best

I play among toasts of bread to eat,
I applaud, all the men caution me, I applaud
And appall, all the women capture ideals.
Why do masters bring their volume of sound?
Where are powers offered me? Why do we trust?

I praise you, my friends below me belong to me,
Mine is the kingdom of treasured moments,
Mines of more oaths are stepped upon.
I play among roses sweeter than death and lifted life,
Among the thieves of best degree, of mightier crowds.

Must we thank goals, must we gather their ills?
Those of the ambitious create me,
To augustly spread my knowledge, offering me,
Collapsed waves sparkle so unfittingly,
With stars at deathly night, the night of theft.
