I - Onion Poem by Soumya Dash

I - Onion

They gave me 'Space'
to deal with myself
and when I open'd my doors
they storm'd right in...

I am a shy-shy guy
too hard to open up
but when I open'd my doors
a little, they zoom'd right in...

Who is to tell 'em
it takes a step-by -step
have to go a li'l bit slow
like peeling a layer of onion
and then the real treasure comes out
the real personality opens up...

but if we cut it at once
then the onion is sliced
leaving it bruised, wounded
there'll be nobody then
to caress its wounds...

Patience is the virtue here
which nobody has today
perhaps this onion'll stay unpeel'd
nobody'll peel it any-day!

I am a shy-shy guy
if I open my doors
and you're really interested in me
never storm in, rather come-a-little
then I'll show you some more
and you'll come some more
and get to know me more
layer-by-layer, I am an Onion
after all! !

So, Give me my 'Space'
to deal with myself
and when I open my doors
never storm right in...

If you are interested, ever..
I'll be yours forever...
