I New A Man. Poem by Tyler Cobb

I New A Man.

Rating: 5.0

I know this man
Who is dear to my heart.
Suddenly one day
It was torn all torn apart.

This man taught me a lot
That I needed to know,
But I never really listened
Until he had to go.
He gave me love
And touched me with his light.
It's all over now;
He no longer has to fight.

He tried to teach me
Right from wrong.
The day he left
I wasn't that strong.

He is gone now,
It is hard to believe.
This man is your dad
Whom Like my own yes I had.

But I will see him again,
This I know.
The day will come
When it's time for me to go.

So, I'll hold him dear
And close to my heart
'Cause when we again meet,
I know we'll never be torn apart.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
One of my dad‘s best friends, when he was younger, had grown up with him all his life, and when I was born, he was still a friend of his, and I have grown up, knowing him all my life. Well, you've asked away, and I wrote this for a young daughter
