I Miss The Comfort Poem by Jasmin Jimenez

I Miss The Comfort

I miss the comfort. I long for it day after day. The feeling of unity, the feeling just right before laughter, that feeling that makes you complete. Oh, how I long for it. I miss it. Return it to me, give it back, I need it now more than ever. Why won’t you come back to me? I didn’t mean to scare you off. The fear of losing you may have just done that. Now you’re gone, and the waiting begins, waiting for you to return. Lost in the air, like a last breath. Can you take me with you? Take me far away into the world where I belong. I belong with you. You and I must comply, without the you and the I, there is no us. I miss it, just grab my hand, gently, take me, take me away. I want to feel it again.

Don’t let me fall again, stay behind me, don’t walk ahead, don’t let me fall again. I trusted your hands, your strength, hold me. Hold me for a while, while I breathe…don’t let me fall, I fail to catch my breath when you let go. I beg you, let me breathe, give me my breath back. I want it to last this time, everlasting breath.
