I Met A Love Poem by TEDDY MOSES

I Met A Love

Rating: 5.0

I met a love that my father would not allow,
Her skin is light and she is shy at the sun,
Her hair is golden and her eyes milk white,
She applies a cream that evades the burns, and a hat that shelters her scalp,
She is tender to touch, and fragile to bites,
They say there is something wrong with her, but I think its their perception that is wrong,

I met a love that my friends would scatter from me,
She puts on some work at every chore she does,
She has two supports that look beautiful when she walks in them,
Her doctors say her back is twisted improperly,
But I think it is curved perfectly to receive and nature our love,
They call her names and stare at our pairing,
They say there is something wrong with her, but I think its their perception that is wrong,

I met a love that my mother wept at the sight of,
She has spent endless time in infinite confinement,
She knows not a thing called civilization.
She does what she does in the most haphazard manner,
Her doctors say her brain was not well developed,
But I think God left this vacuum for me to fill,
They say there is something wrong with her, but I think its their perception that is wrong.

I met a love that hears not a sound and sees not a sight,
Her speech is a mess and her walker a blunder,
I walk hand in hand with her and tap her back when I need her say,
They say my love is a waste and an illusion of time,
But am proud for she trusts me to hear on her behalf, and believes every word I say,
I love her for through my sight, we embrace a vision many cannot have,
I have a love, the greatest of all loves.
