I May Not Be Wealthy Poem by Francis Duggan

I May Not Be Wealthy

I feel i am poor for my financial income is small
But compared to many very poor people i am not poor at all
I live in a warm house sleep in a warm bed
Whilst many sleep in a park in a barn or a shed
I am not a well off bloke of that i won't lie
But it will not be of malnutrition that i will die
I am never short of bread vegetables, cheese or meat
In fact i am one who at times over-eat
I may not be wealthy and i am showing my years in gray
But many worse off than me in the Human World of today
And though i often do struggle for to make ends meet
I have never known of life on Poverty Street
I may not be wealthy in a financial way
But millions worse off than me in the Human World of today.
