I'M The Novel Poem by Sangweni Brian Riise

I'M The Novel

You have to turn the cover
and read through me.
Turning me over
I've got a cover
that marks my ending.
That's when I'm over.
Because I'm bold, the old
open my first page with rage,
eager or driven by anger,
curious and furious.

My sheets are so white
and neatly printed, though
the words are black and rude.
Just read me and learn none.
Turn the next page you get shocked.
I'm interesting as you go deeper,
soon I'll be over,
And you'll be through.

I'm the novel,
when my page is turned,
I turn an age.
It's just a life below 18,
About me, the novel.
I mess with minds
that end up missing me,
And that's jst my job.

I end with a cover,
no fullstop can mark my end,
because I'm not just a story,
of prisoners getting life sentence.
I hate this sentence but I'm a darling with this line,
because we novels don't die but get burnt.
Atleast we can make fire.
Novels don't get jailed but are piled
on decent shelfs.
That's just us
That's just me
the novel tittled Brian
