I'M Sorry Poem by Jennifer Sollmann

I'M Sorry

I revolt when it starts to feel the same
Reminders of a past I chased away
I think of you as mine
Jealousy kindly waltzes with me
It’s too tangible, you and I
I push and I pull
Laying broken on the floor
A past, I simply can’t let go
I find comfort in the feeling
I want to be free
Derelict and willful
My heart commands me
I’m far from lucid
A screaming soul deep inside
You awaken a dormant love
Whispers of a risk
The liquid emotion is stagnant
Invigorate a passion
Hiss and slither
Snake your way into my smile
Inspire my love
Give me a whirlwind
Fade away, disappear
You’re not wanted here
Waltz with me instead
Let it all go
Such a fallacy, my words
Liquid gold, charred black
Wishes upon falling stars
Smiles of a sunrise
Oceans of shattered glass
Beauty in the anguish
Let go of the dream
Set it free on wild wings
My path was chosen for me
Not my will, but yours
You’ll always be for now
Don’t expect it soon
You hinder me
I’m sorry
