I'M Sitting Here Poem by Leon Thomas Lee

I'M Sitting Here

Rating: 3.5

I'am sitting here by the telephone
Hoping you will call and explain why you have gone
You said there was nothing on this earth
That could destroy our love
Our love came from God above
I am here trying to wipe away the tears
Tell me what happened these last three years
We promised to stand by each other
I said i would be your husband
You said you would be my wife
Together we would walk in the light
Tell me what happen this time
For you to change your mind
Your parents asked me what was wrong
It was hard to tell them you were gone
Every time i walk out the door
Our friends ask where you are
Oh, my heart broke when i told them
you don't love me anymore
If you came back tonight
I would take you back
Remember, i said i would be your husband
You said you would be my wife
Together, we promised to walk in the light
I would take you back
