I'm Almost Over You Poem by Barry Middleton

I'm Almost Over You

Rating: 4.8

I'm almost over you
the years play out like cards

my hair is streaked with gray
I give you my regards

it was so long ago
I still remember the night

the tide was coming in
the moon faded from sight

we packed our things and ran
the blanket and champagne

and late into the darkness
we listened to the rain

we passed the night together
and yet we were alone

in tides and stormy weather
adrift in the unknown
