I'M A Blue Boy In A Red Dress Poem by GEN Nelson

I'M A Blue Boy In A Red Dress

Rating: 5.0

I'm a blue boy in a red dress
My hat's adorned with pretty flowers
I am eye candy, sweet to the touch
I'm a goddess who has lost her powers

I'm a blue bird with a red beak
My nest is filled with dead flies
So no one will understand
Why I simply cannot fly

I simply cannot fly

Over and under the clouds in the sky
If I could find wind then maybe I'd try
but the dark is growing, and the earth is op'ning
and I fall again
I fall

I'm a blue girl with a red head
My eyes are flecked with angry gold
My tongue is sharper than ever
So why's my body so damn old?

I'm a blue thing in a red dream
The pretty flowers have turned to dust
My skin is grey and too clean
My bones have started to rust

So I simply cannot fly
I simply cannot

Over and under the clouds in the sky
If I could find wind then maybe I'd try
but the dark is growing, and the earth is op'ning
and I fall again
I fall
