I like 'lil Haiku
says so much with so few words
from nice family.
Want to write sister Tanka
who says more to make same points.
Great work Jim and clever too! Top marks! Karin Anderson
This is a very nicely written tanka, Jim, perfect in syllable count with some very sly lines as well. Most of us Americans tend to view a tanka as simply an extended haiku or senryu, which, needless to say, upsets our purist friends considerably! To their further consternation, a poet from the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina deveoped a new haiku/senryu format, the 2-3-2 poem, which is not easy to write, to say the least. Carl.
