i live behind his shadow
this man who brought you sorrow
the one who wrought the pain
along the heavy pouring rain

I'’ ll live behind his shadow
Perhaps until tomorrow
Until I'’ ve severed all the aches
Until I’ 've taken all the stakes

To undo the hurt he caused
To surpass the joys he brought
To know I’ 'll do it just because
You are the love that my heart sought

Until you’ re free from all the numbness
‘ 'til you believe in love again
I will stand through all this madness
Until I make you love again
