I Lied Poem by Oscar Munir

I Lied

When I said you are free to run to his arms,
I won't be minding if I saw you two holding hands,
When you laugh and smile because of his jokes,
it will never be a burden for me seeing you two going on dates.
The beach, in the movies, the shopping malls and the recreation centers,
The swimming pools and the Parks,
I thought all this would never hurt,
but truth is, I lied.
when I said you two can be a thing,
that I'm strong enough to see you two together,
laughing at each other's silly jokes,
embracing in each other's arms,
Nothing was going to burden me I swore,
Even when you guys shared the same house,
And spent all the lonely and cold nights together,
Kissing, cuddling and making love,
This looked nothing serious just at the thought,
But honestly, seeing and watching it happen,
Feels like a sharp needle through my heart and I can't take it anymore.
