I Know. (New) Poem by Alison Rosalie

I Know. (New)

I want to churn the world
without ever touching it.
I want to wallow in hollows,
dwell in dells, dark spaces
and behind windows, illuminated
with only outside lights.

I want to float over you,
comfort you from afar
watch your eyes light up
when you look to the sun
know you’re sound when
I normally wouldn’t be around.

I want to stroke stars
and stand on unseen planets
I want to watch equations unfold
into artforms, elucidated,
and whisper a mantra
the whole world will hear.

I want to be ridden from skin
singled out from scars
have the far away feeling be real
and the lonely aura enveloping
disintegrate to a specter, a soul
who seems absent, vanished.

I want to know when I am told
“you’re precious, you’re striking
you’re special, yes you’re
really a light” I want to know
there are no strings tying it
to the things dolor allows me do.

I want to feel the solace
of your soft jaw in my palm,
and your grin slowly grow
under a stroke of my thumb
and know that loyalty allows me
endless forevers in your scent.

I want to abandon my bones
above rocky waters and float
ever upwards, expanding madly,
coalescing with golden-violet clouds
to look down across the earth,
all starry-eyed and lilac-breathed.
