I Dreamed I Was Dreaming Poem by alexander opicho

I Dreamed I Was Dreaming

Rating: 3.5

Caged in a cubbyhole, no opening
Bright light coming from a candle,
Standing all along from the first day
Huge sized black snaking my neighbour,
Killing everything on its encounter
Rats, coackroaches, mice and another boy,
Passing on me in wily style,
Only hope I was left with
Had been my sooner death,
Musing how poison will reduce me
To nothing more than a useless black cadaver,
Only good thing is that wonderful mystique
Which calcified me to wakefulness of life
Shedding away fear as I was dreaming a dream.
