I Didn't Get it

I didn't get it the first time around
It took me quite awhile
Before those Bible truths sunk in
My sin laid pile on pile
Until it's weight to much to bare
Convicted by the Word
Then He removed them instantly
When I called upon the Lord

I knew there was a difference
When I came to Him in prayer
My heavy burden gone.. gone
My sins were found nowhere
And joy began to flood my soul
For forgiveness for my sin
I felt the Spirit's cleansing power
When He indwelt within

A righteousness not of my own
Had ownership of me now
And I was fastened to the Lord
And He with me as well
And there we were in fellowship
Just my God and I
And
While angels up in Heaven rejoicing
Witnessing my heart felt cry

My soul was saved eternally
God: s Word it standeth fast
And every sin was washed away
Forever with my past
And now praise God... I'm free... I'm free
What love to be forgiven
Living here on earth below
With a heart that's boundfor Heaven!
