I Couldn'T Help But To Think Poem by Chelsea Lybbert

I Couldn'T Help But To Think

As I walked along the memorial,
I couldn't help but to think...
How many lives it cost,
To ensure another country's freedom.
I couldn't help but to think...
If the conflict had never taken place,
Where would the world be today?
How many of those men,
Could have amounted to inventors?
What could have their mind thought of,
To make the world a better place?
I couldn't help but to think...
What their children would have done,
What miracles could have taken place?
I couldn't help but to think...
Of the love they could have shared.
I couldn't help but to think...
