I Bet You Never Knew Poem by christopher veremu

I Bet You Never Knew

I bet you never knew
Every step you took new
From me your busy feet drew
Straight into my heart you flew

Thrusting with each measured pace
Lead into zesty avenues with each lap
Turning this much worn space further agape
I felt capable of swallowing you whole again

Treasured being only one with you
You and me total wholesome oneness true
Stranger still this much deep hurting wound
Enflames in me passions fierce I all but drown

Watching you walk away left me unglued
Scattered you were eveywhere I dared look
What would I not do for you my heart you took
Fled straight to soles of your feet paid its dues

With new scented balm must I your wounds dress
Gentlest of touch my hands must now your soul caress
Melt the hurt healing smoothing soothing with no recess
I believe indeed I do this is heaven drenched this process

Running from me failed hard tear
The firm ties binding you to me dear
Made were you for me this much too clear
Could there then be more ground for good cheer

Loved once why not dare love again
Too fine is this circle from love to pain
Looking closer it takes us where we started
Complete picture now lets begin where we parted

See how rich the bunched fruit must resemble
Back breaking plating yielding sweetest harvest
Unforgiving winter surrendering to gushy spring fest
Inky black damp night unclothed by sweetest of summer days

To love with open heart greatest of all
loving wholeheartedly twice blissfully bold
Lesson henceforth crafted in purest new gold
Renewed love reborn ruling over the scripted old.
