I Am Me. Poem by Lady Lyrical Kay

I Am Me.

I am that girl Trisey.
I am that 15 yr. old girl, from Inkster, born from Detroit. [est.1991]
I am that dark-skinned, big lipped, pretty when she wants, ugly when she has to be...
I am the black little girl that everyone in the household depends on.
I am the black little girl that looks in the mirror with false high-confidence when in a situation that bring me W A Y down.
I am that black little girl that does anything for attention from her father.
I am that black little girl who looks in the mirror and wonders who her biological mother is.
I am that black little girl that seems real nice, but can be so cruel.
I am that black little girl that will continue to fight for a decent life, whether it's in a illegal way or not.
I am that black little girl whom is scared to be herself, let`s someone else take the spotlight.
I am that black little girl who sacrifices and waits her turn, when her turn is S T I L L there.
I am that young black woman who stood up tall, spoke her mind, and gave her all.
I am that young woman who fought for what she know and will continuously believe what is right, on her behalf.
I am that young woman who was brave to all that was evil, cruel and unkind to her.
I am that young woman who understands what self-confidence, maintaining high potential and withstanding high self-esteem means.
I am that young black woman whom is Katrise Monique Clark.

I am ME.

.........your poem has too many 'I am's' - a tad self-indulgent don't you think?
