I Am Less Disappointed Poem by Shalom Freedman

I Am Less Disappointed

I am less disappointed
About all I have done disappearing
And more disappointed at the thought
That everything humanity has done
That all that we are
May well disappear

I do not know
I pray to God this will not be
But when I think about
The Big Freeze or the Big Rip or the Big Crush
Or whatever distant end is predicted for everything

I am sadder than I would be
If it were only my work alone
