I Am Black, With The Light. Poem by Jon Levy

I Am Black, With The Light.

I'm so happy and I feel it
In my bones
But the problem is,
My heart's as cold as stones
The stones, In the winter,
In an icy grove,
Getting worse nightly though.
Because I'm alone.
But today...I feel so well.
Spring is here.
I'm near erasing the end of my fear.
I'll approach the girl
that I once loved.
Approach her pearls
and escape off in my truck.
I met a man named Tom a man named Huck,
I met a new woman, and it's about time my fortune became my luck.
About time this swordsman hit every duck
in a row.
And I glow
When I blow
In The Breeze
Addicted to the trees
The palms and the oaks
Singing songs and blowing smoke.
Enough telling tales, and making jokes.
Around the campfire.
It's my desire
to retire
to the depths of heaven
When I'm 77.
Or maybe when I am 89.
Only time
Will tell
When I figure...
Well, I'm as vast as the ocean
Well look at the mind
It takes shape in all different kinds
In all different places
and we are one
With the void
Hop into the realm
And play a film
For you droids.
For all you folks.
Scramble up your brain like some yolks
from an egg
Just enough though, to keep you from going dead
They call this crazy
But it amazes me
How I'm so sane
Despite all that I have lost, I have gained.
Mix the light with the dark
Mix the 'already you fight' with a spark.
And a flame
for the fire
And I'm hired
For the job
Because I am Jesus, I am God.
In my fantasy
Has to be
true
Because I'm a Jew.
But I am black
as my heart
Black
as the dark
Black
just hope I can avoid the narcs.
In the streets
While dancing to the beat.
