Hypocrisy Creates Hatred Poem by Amani AlSaddiq

Hypocrisy Creates Hatred

No choice, No voice,
Stuck in here, no one to hear,
Can't do what I want, are you crazy?
I'm an adult, not a baby.
You call me a secular,
I pray all my prayers regular,
I make the right choices and never ever differ,
As a teenager I could have done wrong,
Listening to music, having boyfriends, going out all day long,
But no I stayed home, I haven't escaped, but instead been patient,
And for sure I know my Lord will reward me without a complaint statement,
I listen to every word and advice you give,
Still you despise me and make excuses like water draining from a sieve,
I really think you are like munaffils,
Worse than Gadafi and stinking narcissists,
You're too controlling, it's turning you into freaks and losing the only daughter who's at the end of her tethers peak,
I'm not an angel, so stop making me into what you wanted but never seeked,
Like today I watched an animated movie,
It had music so you muted it, then you went on to curse me.
It wasn't my fault, it was harmless entertainment,
But it's a different story when you watch Holby City for your own hearts fulfilment,
All I ask is just please don't raise your voices at me the next time over pointless undebatable things, for I too have a endless list of your failures and hypocrisy, but choose to remain silent, venting my feelings only through writing.
